JOB SUMMARY. Plan, coordinate and direct the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with well established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

JOB FUNCTIONS. Manage a data analyst, two supervisors (who supervise nine techs), and two labs in this multi-plant responsibility position. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this function. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Active team member of international quality management team for globalization of methods, processes and specifications. Active team member of corporate QA, and North American Quality Team responsible for maintaining quality objectives compliant with corporate policies and goals. Manage testing criteria and procedures. Direct workers engaged in testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Provides testing activity for products throughout the production cycle. Drive implementation and maintenance of plant ISO systems, FML-QS, and FPA. Manage overall quality programs and data analysis systems with other company locations. Analyze statistical data from test results. Develop plans to reduce product variability & insure quality levels are maintained. Design and implement quality control training programs for key personnel in conjunction with managers. Key role in developing programs to meet GMP and HACCP requirements as well as provide for their auditing function. Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel in the organization. Coordinate objectives with production processes & plant manager cooperation, to maximize reliability & minimize costs. Establish program to evaluate precision and accuracy of testing, measurement and analytical facilities. Apply TQM tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department. Provide excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers, using root cause analysis and apply corrective action to resolve complaints. Travel up to 10% annually. Mainly international. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS. BS or MS in sciences (strong micro background helpful). Seven to ten years related experience or additional years of education and experience may be substituted for each other. Preferred an ability to participate in a project team-driven environment. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications needed, with SAP experience desirable. Ability to read and follow technical procedures and to write reports. Prefer ability to operate a variety of lab equipment and instruments, and/or a variety of office equipment, including computers plus experience with database and spreadsheet application. Employee will be required to blend formulas and perform tests using a variety of laboratory equipment.

Prefer ability to operate a variety of lab equipment and instruments, and/or a variety of office equipment, including computers plus experience with database and spreadsheet application. Employee will be required to blend formulas and perform tests using a variety of laboratory equipment.
