Quality Assurance Manager Plastic Additives

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Quality Manager is an on-site position to manage the overall plant quality system, process engineering, and product testing. This person will manage & be responsible for Quality &/or Process Engineer(s), Lab Technicians and Process Specialists. This position manages plant-wide quality systems, Statistical Process Control (SPC) / Statistical Quality Control (SQC), process improvements, improvement tools such as FMEA and Measurement System Analysis, process and customer specifications, plant ISO certification, and customer improvement teams. This position resolves and communicates on customer complaints, and handles technical and quality questions from internal and external sources. This position ensures that all manufacturing-related processes are in control and capable and that all product produced at the facility meets the requirements of the end-use customer. This position also serves as the Technical and Quality consultant to the Plant Manager and ensures compliance with all pertinent Corporate Policies, Standards, and Templates.
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Bachelors of Science degree (in-lieu of degree an additional 4 years of related-quality experience in a manufacturing environment) -Ensures that process conditions are monitored and controlled for product consistency and according to the specified conditions. -Ensures that products and process changes are made only according to the sequence of activities specified in the MSA/CSA process. -Ensures that a sound quality management system is implemented. -Ensures that all testing is carried out in accordance with Lab Performance Policy and that all product grading is accomplished in a timely and accurate manner. -Represents the plant in all aspects of professional dealings with customers, the technology community and the commercial group. -Coordinates investigation and corrective action on all plant-related customer complaints. -Develops continuous improvement process to reduce internal and external quality issues. -Assesses training needs and provides training to production employees. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: -Knowledge of plant's manufacturing systems and processes. -Knowledge of statistical analysis -Computer skills: Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet applications required (MS Word & Excel preferred). -Strong organizational & problem-solving skills required. -Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Required Length & Type of Experience: -Five years of progressively more responsible quality/process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment to include prior supervisory responsibility.
