Quality Assurance Manager
Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, Oil & GasFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: *Management/Leadership of QA professionals in assigned support roles in Engineering, Sourcing and Manufacturing. This includes involvement in hiring, project staffing, professional development planning, training, employee performance and salary evaluations.
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Quality system including but not limited to the following: ISO compliance and registration/program integrity; leading the implementation of robust quality practices and process in all area of the Oshkosh facility; Complete audit strategies and execution for internal functions and external suppliers. Works in conjunction with the SQE's to audit the external supplier quality system.
Serves as the initial point of contact for customer complaints on quality issues. Drives all customer complaint resolution through the functional resources in the organization. Defines metrics on customer complaints and tracks/audits improvement strategies. Leads/Audits RCA's for robustness and long term corrective action.
Promotes continuous improvement in all functional areas utilizing audits and training of to improve the effectiveness of the quality system identified in the Quality System Manual and adherence to these procedures.
Drives process improvements by helping define, manage, and optimize processes within the key functional areas. Audits the effectiveness of the NCR process and MRB processes.
Identifies and recommends the use of Quality Assurance software methodologies to improve the overall effectiveness of the functions supported.
Provides metrics for quality activities at all phases of the product life cycle, including post-shipment. Defines the DPMO for each functional area and tracks improvement plans and audits same for long term effectiveness.
Reviews requirements, functional and technical specs, end-user materials, QA strategies and test plans for assigned product areas.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelors or Masters of Engineering or Science degree in a field related to the job held or related experience.
QA Mgmt experience with Development methodologies, QA tools and Automation, and/or other relevant testing tools or programming languages.
Minimum 5 years of proven Quality Management Experience.
Outstanding QA Leadership and management skills with a proven track record for building high performing QA teams.
Multi-site Quality Assurance leadership experience successfully delivering high quality product.
Proven ability setting standards for QA Methodology within QA organization including QA Strategy, Test Plan development, etc.Desired: * Proven ability to drive process improvements within a matrix style organization.
Proven ability to manage staff professionally and coach and advise employees on career development.
Demonstrates excellent ability to share quality assurance techniques and methodologies.
Proven leadership skills.
