Summary of position:The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for the development and implementation of quality assurance process to ensure that all information systems products meet the company business standards and end-user requirements.This position requires the ability to focus on business requirements, strong analytical math and problem solving skills, the ability to document detailed and specific information, prioritize and handle multiple projects to meet deadlines, strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Primary Responsibilities:
Monitor adherence to quality control standards in the development and the implementation of production applications.
Develop extensive quality assurance test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure technical and functional system specifications supports requirements as define in the business requirement documentation. Responsible for creating test data, test standards and procedures as required assisting with the automation efforts using the Mercury Quality Center tools.
Tests and certifies software defect fixes and new functionality. Executes functional application, regression and performance tests for software releases.
Writes clear and precise defect reports as required for identified software defects and functional defects based on testing results.
Work closely with the programmers, analysts, project managers, and other IT groups to develop and enforce quality standards.
Work closely with enterprise users to assist with testing strategy and methods and to assure the quality of the user deliverables. Learn user functions, organization and role in the enterprise to the extent required.
Analyzes manual test results and makes recommendations (future QTP automation tests). Documents results from tests and communicates the results to QA Manager. May be required to present status of test results to department managers or executive staff.
Assists product support with analysis and verifications of software defects reported to determine validity and clarification.
Assists QA Manager with gathering and reporting quality metrics.
Maintain version control in testing and production environments.
Perform other tasks generally associated with the quality assurance function, as needed.Other Responsibilities:
Perform all responsibilities within the guidelines of IS policies and procedures.
Perform routine duties independently; discuss or seek approval on complex matters with the Senior IS Management
Perform at or above the enterprise’s Information Systems performance standard.
Fulfill departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel absence.
Make recommendations and/or may implement testing workflow or QA system improvements to continually improve technology and process standard for the Quality Assurance Department.
Perform project and non-project related tasks and activities to support the department’s goals and objectives.
