QA Scientist - Dairy

This position is responsible for ensuring that Taco Bell’s ingredients are produced in a safe and wholesome manner. To accomplish this, the Product Manager will follow programs agreed upon by the Yum! Global Quality Assurance group. The person must be solution focused and involved in on-going technological advances.

Food Safety and Quality Systems Audit Management:
Product Manager will review all audits for products of Taco Bell approved suppliers for which they are accountable on an ongoing basis.

Program Development and Trouble Shooting:
All members of the Quality Assurance group will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality programs that are product specific. The Product Manager will also assure that suppliers are given clear direction and feedback about their performance in following Yum! programs.

Specification and Formulation Management:
Responsible for updating and maintaining specification and assuring formulations on file are current.

Product and KPI Review:
Create and review Key Performance Indicator Reports from suppliers, and review products for compliance to Yum! standards.

New Supplier Approvals:
Review products and programs submitted by Potential Suppliers. The Product Manager would be accountable for assuring that the Approved Supplier Approval Process (ASAP) was followed, and product was tested for Field Readiness, following the Field Readiness Process

PMI Support:
Provide technical support to the Product Margin Improvement (Cost Savings) team.

Hotline Resolution:
Review and work with suppliers on all hotline related issues.
REQUIREMENTS
BA or BS Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or Agriculture.
3+ years experience in Food Industry - Dairy. Open to Internship experience as well. Experience in managing Dairy and Guacamole Suppliers as well as low category and lower volume products.
Strong project management, oral and written communication skills.
Strong teaming and customer focus skills.
