PC Hardware Compatibility Test Technician

We have an immediate opening within the design validation test group of a major semiconductor company for a qualified PC Compatibility Test Technician. Challenging technical environment working with cutting edge technologies.

* Focus of this position will be PCI Bus testing, including all manner of PCI devices (Storage, media, etc), and drivers, under both 64 bit MS and Linux OS's. Successful candidate will be responsible for testing a wide variety of applications under multiple hardware and OS configurations. Previous testing experience is desired. EXTENSIVE PC configuration, and OS installation experience is necessary. Some level of electrical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with use of oscilloscopes could be helpful in this role.


Requirements:

"Must Have" criteria/experience:

Strong Platform Functional test or troubleshooting experience; minimum of 2 years industry experience. Must have demonstrated experience building large numbers of systems from “the ground up.”

PC Architecture Knowledge.

Expert level knowledge of MS operating systems (2000, XP) is required, as well as some working level experience with Linux. (Setup, install, configure).

Strong Problem Solving skills.

Strong Teamwork and Communications skills.
Experience that would be a plus includes: Experience testing a variety of applications, diagnostics, and benchmarks, as well as experience testing a variety of hardware (Processors, NIC's, Storage, etc.)
