Mental Health System Quality Reviewer
Description:
The Mental Health System Quality Reviewer is responsible for evaluation of Balanced Budget Act (BBA) Standards, Performance Improvement Projects, Quality Management Plans, and other clinical or operational activities of the Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans (PIHP) in the state of Washington’s public mental health system, as part of the External Quality Review process required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The position requires frequent interaction with the State Mental Health Division (MHD) staff and regional PIHP leadership to promote productive working relationships and achieve performance standards. The review process entails effective and productive internal team work to design and communicate the review process. Duties include: Development and/or modification of review tools Desk reviews of related documents Onsite activities at the PIHP and provider agencies Documentation of findings Development of reports for assigned reviews Technical assistance and follow-up activities related to review results and as requested by MHD To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
5 years of experience in progressively responsible positions in the behavioral health care field, preferably working with Medicaid and/or public sector populations Knowledge of public mental health system design, requirements, reimbursement strategies; prefer at least 2 years management experience at senior level in government or provider setting Strong communication skills and consumer service background Experience in quality improvement methods, clinical research and/or research design Strong analytical skills Self-directed; requires little direct supervision
Education:
Masters or PhD in psychology or related discipline.
