Laboratory Tester Trainee

Division: Lemont RefiningDepartment: Lemont Tech Services & EngineeringOrganization: Lemont LaboratoryJob Description: * Collect refinery samples via pick-up truck and deliver to the Lab for testing.
Computer log all samples and generate schedules for Lab personnel.
Perform Lab tests (including but not limited to: API gravity, Flash (3), Color (2), Dye, cloud point and pour point, distillation, gas chromatography and various wet chemistry procedures.
Enter mass test data into the LIMS data base.
Perform basic maintenance on Lab equipment.
Dump and retain mass samples per procedures.
Operate bottle washer to clean sample containers and return containers to the operating units.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications: Associates Degree in Chemistry or 2 years of Laboratory experience is required. Must be able to perform repetitive duties as trained and assigned within all Laboratory areas.
Must demonstrate ability to learn and qualify on all classifications within the Laboratory.
Must meet all physical requirements to perform the essential functions of the position.
Must be able to work a rotating work shift.
Must complete training programs and pass proficiency tests on levels in the Laboratory.
Must possess visual and mental acuity, good mechanical aptitude.
Must be able to climb, work outdoors, and wear SCBA equipment.
