Inspector - 1st and 2nd Shifts

JOB SUMMARY:

Seeking applicant to inspect turbine engine components for compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements and company specifications before or after manufacturing processes. Will also approve items within specifications and recommend disposition of items not meeting standards.
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


1.Obtains blueprints and company specification sheet for the item and particular order.
2.Determines inspection procedure to ensure complete verification of specifications and dimensions. Obtains necessary fixtures, gauges, and indicators to check parts for compliance with specifications, within prescribed tolerances. Completes certain assurance checklists during the process.
3.Verifies identification of part and supplier (internal or outside supplier). Performs inspection procedures including checking dimensions of related surfaces, holes, etc., as well as assessment of finish and detection of undesirable nonconformances.
4.Rejects unacceptable items and moves part to plant quarantine area.
5.Checks salvage possibilities of items outside specification limits and recommends reworking where possible. Otherwise, disposes of part according to customer specifications. Notifies supervisor of incorrect machining trends.
6.Completes required company paperwork on machined parts inspection activity.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Assists Engineering department with information on machined part potential or machinery capabilities.
2.Frequent contact with production department manager and machine operators.




JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1At least five years' experience as an aerospace component parts inspector.
2.Expert knowledge of blueprint reading and machinery limitations.
3.Excellent visual inspection ability. Sufficient manual dexterity to handle and manipulate delicate parts and measuring instruments.
4.Analytical capabilities to interpret detailed and complex drawings.
