Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary:
Serve as liaison for all New Product Introductions (NPI) and Engineering Change Order Activity. Work closely with Design Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing Managers, and Manufacturing to assure the early involvement of SCM during Project Proposals and New Product Introductions. Responsible for assuring those responsible SCM personnel are adequately supporting all New Product Introductions and ECO activity in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
•Represent the Supply Chain Team on all cross-functional NPI projects.
•Identify all active new project introduction requirements for the supply chain within the respective business unit. Forecast supply chain resources, including opportunities for supplier interface to the design cycle and the magnitude of material requirements for each program.
•Work with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, Commodity Management, and the Supply Base to deliver sourcing solutions that meet project requirements and deadlines.
•Work with Marketing to understand 'flow down' requirements during proposal and contract negotiations.
•Support Design Engineering to obtain NPI-related quotations with the Commodity Buyers to implement the SCM Strategy and to provide leverage for negotiations.
•Work with Commodity teams, as necessary, to identify new supply sources to support NPI activities.
•Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineering audits and First Article Inspection.
•Coordinate all material requirements with the Logistics team to support engineering sample builds and pre-production volumes. This includes tooling and equipment purchased through our Indirect Purchasing group.
•Responsible for all of the material associated with proto/pilot builds, as well as ensuring that material is in the pipeline for the production ramp up.
•Coordinate with the Scheduler / Planner in production control to ensure appropriate balance between supply and demand.
•Verify proper stock disposition is managed between Buyer and Planner for ECO activity.
•Lead moderate to complex make/buy analysis, project cost initiatives and/or special projects as assigned by the Director of SCM.
•Develop requirements files with suppliers.
•Work with target pricing.
REQUIREMENTS
•5+ years experience as a buyer and/or production planner or equivalent customer service/supplier management experience. This position requires a candidate to understand the 'big picture' and the organizational impact of an effective NPI & ECO process.
•BS/BA degree required; MBA preferred or equivalent experience.
•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required including strong project/program coordination ability.
•Excellent interpersonal and team building skills are essential along with sound judgment and strong leadership ability
