We have an immediate opportunity in our Carlsbad, CA territory for:

Supply Chain Manager

Responsibilities:
Lead development and alignment of sourcing, negotiations, partnering strategies, and commodity management for site supply chain and ensure cost improvement and integration synergy objectives are met.
Hire, train, and develop personnel to ensure responsive, assertive, innovative supply management capability.
Identify and implement cost reduction, cost avoidance, and process improvement initiatives consistent with site goals and objectives.
Lead development of material usage forecasts and inventory strategies to ensure that on-time delivery and inventory objectives are met, and team with other operational groups to train and implement Lean Manufacturing.
Develop and lead teaming efforts to address specific departmental goals and objectives.
Direct supplier selection, negotiation, development and management and, in conjunction with Quality Assurance, supplier qualification and certification to achieve both operating objectives and supply management goals.
Assure effective involvement with Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and all other supply management related functions with focus on cost reduction and inventory management.
Lead supplier performance management initiatives and improvement teams to ensure maximum value is delivered to supply chain (i.e., improved use of SAP, JIT/Kanban purchasing, supplier stocking programs, partnerships, relationships with key supplier executives, performance measurement, recognition, etc.).
Assure continuous improvement in key performance metrics.
Establish, maintain and report key supply management performance metrics.
Maintain marketplace intelligence regarding suppliers' economic visibility, financial strength and technical knowledge.
REQUIREMENTS
BA or BS degree preferred but not required.
Must have experience in the medical device industry; minimum 5 years of management experience.
Hands-on experience in ERP (SAP pefered), scheduling and purchasing.
Ability to develop, understand and perform to departmental budgets.
Excellent communication and organization skills are essential.
Must possess good analytical and problem solving skills.
Professional negotiation skills and experience interacting directly with suppliers, customer service, marketing, engineering and management.
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and able to complete multiple assignments on time.
Develop and execute procedures, processes and plans to continuously improve operational performance.
