Supplier / Procurement Specialist

PSA is seeking a hands-on Procurement/Supplier Specialist to serve an integral role within the Production Planning Team.

The successful Supplier / Procurement Specialist candidate will facilitate day to day management within the PSA purchasing process for printing, packaging and mailing materials and/or services. In this high visibility role you will be responsible for assessing the current procurement processes and making recommendations on system changes and process improvements. You will participate in several high profile projects with the Quality team, Planning team, Finance team, and Production team to establish standards and controls within procurement and supplier management area.

Responsibilities:Work with Director to manage supplier relationships and facilitate issue resolution to PSA satisfaction.
Monitor supplier performance metrics and participate in cross- functional teams relating to quality, service and schedule.
Make recommendations designed to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
Work with Director to negotiate and establish pricing arrangements with selected suppliers and ensure compliance.
Lead a cross-functional team to develop and implement state of the art processes for supplier management and procurement.
Manage “Request for Quotes” process to satisfaction of PSA management.

REQUIREMENTS
Supplier / Procurement Specialist Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of supplier relationship/procurement experience.
Strong understanding of quality concepts, quality measurements and process-improvement techniques (i.e., benchmarking, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma).
Supply chain management experience desirable.
Innovative thinking with an ability to present solutions.
Strong organizational, planning, time and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proven negotiation skills (internal and external).
Proven analytic abilities: research and data analysis, financial analysis, problem-solving.
Excellent PC skills, including spreadsheet.
Proven self-starter and team player.
