Skids Procurement Manager

Emerson Process Management, Daniel division is currently recruiting for a Skids Procurement Manager to be located in our Houston, Texas facility.

Significantly improve the cost position and Supplier performance for targeted commodities by leveraging across Daniel / Emerson Process Management and/or Emerson, and consolidating material requirements into Preferred Suppliers, delivering overall value to Daniel and it’s Customers.

Accountable for achieving desired results for the following key focus areas / functions for assigned Suppliers, Commodities, and Projects:

-Material Cost Containment and Cost Savings
-Supplier Consolidation / Reduction
-Material Price / Cost Control and Negotiation
-Purchasing Process Controls
-Sourcing / Commodity Strategies
-Material Sourcing Projects
-Supplier Performance – Quality / On-Time Delivery / Lead-time / Lot-sizes
-Materials / Inventory Management / Lean Mfg Support
-Purchased Material ITO Performance
-Supplier Long Term Agreements (Frame Agreements)
-Manufacturing Rationalization Support / Coordination
-Day-to-Day P.O. Management Support
-Supplier Education – Quality / MRP / SPC / CIP / JIT / Lean / Factory Flow
-Maintaining / Developing Supplier Relationships

Assigned Suppliers, Commodities, and Projects:

Primary assignments will fall into these commodity groups:

-Outside Fabrication
-Buyouts
-Intercompany Purchases
-Misc / Other

Key Initiatives for these groups fall into three broad areas: Material Cost Savings; Supplier Management; and Process Improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
•College degree Engineering, Business, Materials, or related subject.
•3 to 5 years experience manufacturing, materials, or related discipline.
•Solid Materials and/or Procurement Background (preferably w/ Buyouts).
•Potential for advancing career one or two levels higher.
•Ability to communicate to all levels and functions of Suppliers and Divisions.
•Analytical and Computer skills to manage data and information.
•Organizational and Teaming skills to lead Commodity / Sourcing efforts.
•Requires Travel to Suppliers and Divisions, including International Travel.

Supervision

Responsible for buyers located in each region.
