Job Description:·Guide the selection and development of new suppliers to meet commodity cost and performance goals.·Establish long-term relationships and negotiate applicable agreements with suppliers that place Harris' in a lead position with its suppliers thereby assuring continuity of supply and best in class quality and pricing to provide advantage to Harris and its customers.·Where appropriate, implement regional programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization.·Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Harris customers as appropriate.·Work with Customer Supply Chain Managers and Product Introduction Centers to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs.·Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies and industry trends
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:·BS Degree in business or technical related field and 10+ years of purchasing/sourcing experience with a minimum of 5 years in Electronic Component sourcing or purchasing. MBA preferred.·Six Sigma knowledge and training preferred.Experience:·Experience successfully managing supplier development and relationship activities.·Strong background in negotiating agreements.·Experience managing multiple projects.·Strong communications skills (oral, written and presentation) and the ability to successfully communicate at all levels of the organization.·Strong teamwork experience.·Strong computer skills.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
