Senior Buyer

SENIOR BUYER

Our client, a manufacturer of building materials and home décor products, is currently seeking a Senior Buyer to establish corporate strategies to drive value and cost reduction throughout the supply chain.

The Buyer will be responsible for the purchasing and management of raw materials inventory for manufacturing wood products, systems, this includes planning materials requirements, ensuring on-time delivery from vendors, and negotiating the best pricing on purchased goods.

Ideally, the Senior Buyer will able to succeed in a metric driven environment where it is critical that the team maintain focus on performance against goals. The successful candidate will explore new and innovative sourcing options, and develop strategies for cost reduction. The Senior Buyer will also play a crucial role in infusing the purchasing team with a high level of energy and develop the group into a dynamic forward thinking team.

REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree in Business or related field.

The Senior Buyer will have demonstrated success in:A purchasing/buyer role in a manufacturing environmentQualifying and managing suppliersAchieving Piece Price Variance goalsNegotiating both long term purchasing agreements and spot buysManaging multiple (and sometimes conflicting) prioritiesAbility to provide motivation to a team

Experience purchasing and managing suppliers internationally (specifically in China or Southeast Asia) would be beneficial.
