Senior Buyer Kelly Engineering has a Long Term Contract (great opportunity for temp to hire) for a telecommunications company in Chicago, IL

The Main Scope of this Position Involves:

Establishing and enhancing an effective strategic supply base for assigned product groups and overseeing supplier and product selection processes.

Accountable for effective administration of materials, requisitions, purchase orders for assigned commodities, supplies or services and for conduct of suppler relations resulting in successful support of supply chain and company objectives!

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Initiate and implement total cost improvements and process improvements within the commodity team

Perform key negotiating role with our suppliers for best terms and pricing and lead negotiation on purchase agreements, contracts and special projects

Prepare and manage the RFP process on eProcurement tool

Generate cost deduction programs for a specific product group

Monitor supplier performance and the certification process and conduct supplier conferences for assigned commodities

Responsible for cost effective and timely delivery of products with stringent technical and quality requirements

Perform routine purchasing functions including: Preparing purchase orders and change orders, resolving discrepancies in PO's and invoices, soliciting supplier bids, operating within the SAP System, submittal of timely reports and insuring on time delivery of quality materials

Some travel required

Experience and Education Requirements Include:

8+ years of procurement experience

Supervisory experience required

Bachelor Degree (Masters Degree Preferred)

C.P.M Certification or equivalent

Working knowledge of SAP, Windows and Excel strongly preferred

Knowledge of the wireless industry and NAPM/ISM background is beneficial

Experience with E-Procurement initiatives and technologies a plus

Project management experience with the ability to multi-task and continuously reprioritize
