SS Commodity Manager - Technology

Overview: The Baker Hughes Business Support Services (BHBSS) Strategic Sourcing Team currently has an opening for a Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager for Technology Commodity areas. This position will work in a team environment; will lead Strategic Sourcing Commodity Teams; will facilitate part-time teams of cross-divisional advisory board members; will be responsible for the development and management of preferred supplier relationships; and will be responsible for the management of telecommunications invoice billing and processing. The BHBSS Strategic Sourcing Team's mission is to utilize best practices and continuous improvements in identifying, selecting, developing, and supporting long term partnerships with suppliers and customers that will result in increased profitability and shareholder value. The Team follows a structured process to optimize the value of externally purchased materials and services for Baker Hughes through consolidating sourcing activities from all business units, promoting Baker Hughes as a "single" enterprise customer to suppliers, and emphasizing Baker Hughes' commitment to a new sourcing strategy. The governing body for the Strategic Sourcing Team is the Baker Hughes Manufacturing Excellence Council. The positions will be located in Houston, TX.Responsibilities:
Provides leadership to Commodity Advisory Boards and Team members: In the enterprise-wide management of sourcing and purchases of computer hardware/software and telecommunications products and services, ensuring the Baker Hughes sourcing methodology is utilized; and In the enterprise management of telecommunications invoice billing, processing and payment Manages all Commodity Team projects Develops and manages all Commodity contracts Serves as the primary contact with BHI's suppliers and the Advisory Boards in establishing agreements, including: strategic enterprise-wide negotiation of pricing and services which leverage Baker Hughes purchasing power, monitoring contract compliance, capturing benefits associated with those agreements, tracking/resolving high-level issues, and ensuring continuous improvement. Develops, implements, and evaluates related policy Re-evaluates current agreements and supply and negotiation strategies. This will require that changes in the market place that will reduce costs for BHI, are closely followed and taken advantage of. Identifies and implements complementary enabling technologies and continuous monitoring of industry trends, which may benefit sourcing agreements and/or telecommunication invoice billing and processing. Maintains thorough knowledge of Telecom (voice/data/networking) / Information Technology (hardware/software) commodities and industry knowledge, including knowledge of supply chain and supplier integration. REQUIREMENTS
Detailed knowledge of sourced commodities and their global market. Excellent written and verbal communications. Good organization and planning skills. Ability to visualize and implement creative solutions and respond appropriately and timely to customer needs. SAP knowledge is preferred.
