The benefits of working at Capital include interesting work, exceptional colleagues, a comfortable workplace, competitive salaries and bonuses, and health and life benefits from day one.The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the full administration and management of high-dollar contracts, to include complex services and products for US and global sites. Primary focus will be IT equimpment and service, however, from time to time there may be transactions/projects related to non-IT procurements, e.g., facilities equipment or services. As a senior member of the Purchasing Team, you will:
Develop and implement supply strategies to assure an adequate supplier base to fulfill both the short and long-term goals of CGC projects.

Work closely with the business units to ensure timely and accurate contract preparation and problem resolution.

Facilitate and lead pre- and post-competitive bid and/or negotiation strategy meetings.

Facilitate team negotiations with vendors.

Prepare, issue, and analyze bids and contracts, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines, contracting principles, and cost effectiveness.

Maintain control of buyer/seller interface, contracts, and correspondence.Qualifications

Eight or more years of advanced buying experience including in-depth experience and knowledge of IT procurement

Broad knowledge of purchasing techniques along with strong interpersonal and project management skills

Formal, structured training in contract management and negotiations

Extensive experience with RFP process, including creating the proposal, analyzing vendor responses, selecting the vendor, negotiating, and implementing changes

Demonstrated analytical and negotiation skills

A strong working knowledge of contracts and leases

Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and Access

C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) is a desired professional certification
