Purchasing Program Manager

Summary:
* Leads purchasing efforts to launch new acquired (OEM) products on time and at competitive costs.

* Represents the Global Purchasing organization in lead role on highly matrixed project core teams as primary business interface with major Japanese OEM supplier.

* Works with internal teams to solve problems related to quality and availability issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
-Assures Contracts and Quality plans are complete prior to product launch.

-Identify and lead cost reduction negotiations and analyzes cost competitiveness using a variety of tools.

-Assist senior management during project pricing negotiations and establish working agreements for pricing, logistics, purchasing and payment terms.

-Support design engineering during strategic product development and launch phases by ensuring Operations groups maintain project schedule and meet deliverables.

-Assures supply chain between the supplier and Xerox is fully set up (PO process, logistics, etc.) and materials are in place to support product launch. Manages end of life process with supplier. Cradle to grave responsibility for inbound supply chain beginning at product design and through end of life.

-Manages day to day business relationship with major OEM supplier based in Japan. Identifies areas of needed improvement and works with the supplier to achieve them. Implements contract terms.

-Establish and maintain relationship and communication protocol with supplier and serve as escalation path for dispute resolution between supplier and production buyers.

-Applies strong project management and procurement skills to complex programs in a highly matrixed environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
* BA/BS required, technical/engineering degree preferred: MBA/MS desired.

* Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. Japanese language skills a plus.

* Solid understanding of new product development process, supply chain management, and structured problem solving.

* Minimum of 5 years related work experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage programs and work with cross functional teams.
