Purchasing Manager

Johnstone Supply, a leading Northwest HVAC/R wholesaler, is seeking to add an experience Purchasing Manager to our team. The Purchasing Manager overseas all purchasing and inventory functions to include the creation of weekly and daily store purchase orders and warehouse transfers for assigned branches. In addition, overseas and maintains all inventory ordering controls in the computer and other inventory maintenance projects as required. You will all perform all purchasing and inventory functions related to primary equipment lines and be responsible for the disposition of slow moving and discontinued inventory in all branches. You will administer vendor programs and works with upper level management on negotiations of vendor programs while managing purchasing personnel.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOverseas replenishment for all branches.Overseas and monitors inventory ordering controls for all branches.Responsible for branch inventory by ensuring up-to-date inventory records.Responsible for procurement of primary equipment product lines.Overseas the review and process of preseason orders.Monitors price changes for special buy opportunities.Overseas the disposition of overstock and obsolete inventory, including but not limited to the annual corporate buyback, immediate buyback, redistribution of inventory throughout branches.Reviews and monitors inventory turns, stocking and service levels and vendor ROI.Reviews order as needed items and works with branches in determining items for stock.Performs manual inventory adjustments including the scrapping of product.Makes recommendations on slow moving items.Administers vendor programs and works with upper level management on negotiations of vendor programs.Overseas inventory levels in consignment warehouses.Overseas preparation of annual hazardous reports for branches.Assists all departments and branches with purchasing and inventory related issues.Manages Purchasing personnel.

REQUIREMENTSBachelors degree in a business related area.Eight to ten years purchasing experience in a multi-branch distribution environment.Prior management experience required.Detailed knowledge of inventory control principles and techniques.Knowledge of procurement in a multi-branch distribution environment.Ability to recognize priorities and organize workload accordingly.Ability to manage work time to meet multiple deadlines.Ability to solve problems including listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others and diagnosing and implementing solutions.Maintains organized work processes, materials and files.Maintains confidentiality of information.Skill in adapting standard procedures to meet the requirements of a given situation.Ability to demonstrate considerable tact and diplomacy in dealing with others.Ability to communicate across different individuals, departments and external parties.Desire to support and meet the needs of customers and other employees.
