Purchasing Clerk

American Italian Pasta Company, North America's largest pasta manufacturer is seeking an experienced Purchasing Clerk for a new position in our Excelsior Springs plant. The Purchasing Clerk compiles and maintains records in AS400 System (BPCS) and performs other office activities, by performing the following duties:

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Update inventory for materials and packaging in BPCS.
Work with vendors to resolve inventory and data discrepancies to ensure accurate data is available to planners at all times.
Retrieval and refilling of information as requested
Update due dates for packaging in BPCS as necessary after receiving confirmation from supplier.
Provides backup to buyers as needed.
Assists with special projects as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS
High School graduate with at least 2 years of applicable office experience. Previous purchasing department work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
This position requires communication skills involving the exchange of information in situations where tact, courtesy, and the ability to communicate in a concise and logical manner are required. The ability to interact with the levels of personnel within the company and with vendors is essential.
Basic Skills in Excel and Word and data entry.
