Purchasing Assistant

The Purchasing Assistant will support the Global Sourcing Manager with supplier development and new product development. Activities include:

Review information from design, engineering or product management for completeness before forwarding it to vendors.

Analyze and format supplier bids for review by the Sourcing Manager.

Analyze and format inbound freight costs for action by the Sourcing Manager

Analyze new product quotations from domestic and international suppliers

Obtain prototype and production samples. Track requests, receipt and review of samples to ensure timely turnaround of information or changes

Assist in developing vendor profiles and other reports as requested.

Track company tooling located at the supplier
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelors in Business or equivalent; able to understand engineering drawings and specifications

With 1-2 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain activities, including exposure to offshore suppliers;

Strong organization and analytical skills to work in a fast paced high SKU environment;

Must have a clear consistent speaking and writing style, be a focused listener

Must be highly proficient Excel and other MS Office products.
