Purchasing Agent

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Agent.

Ag Processing Inc a cooperative is the world’s largest cooperative soybean processing company in the world, a leading supplier of refined vegetable oil, a producer of ethanol & methyl ester (bio-diesel), and grain operations. We are a growing and financially sound company, with an excellent record of promoting from within.

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the procurement process, including obtaining RFQ’s for plant equipment, materials, supplies or services, preparing and submitting reports, ordering and inspecting equipment while managing vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
Complete purchase requests through sourcing, soliciting bids, evaluating options, negotiating prices and terms, writing purchase orders and contracts, tracking equipment and performing necessary follow up
Train and assist employees in the purchasing processes.
Research current and future trends for quality and cost of available equipment, materials, supplies or services including meeting with vendors
Review invoices, reports, contracts, agreements and other legally binding documents.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications include:
Bachelors degree or four or more years in capitol Equipment purchasing experience, plus two plus years plant operation experience and two years of project/coordination/management experience
Experience in soy processing, vegetable oil refining or renewable fuels
Good verbal & written communication skills
Team player with proven project management skills, strong analytical, strategic thinking and
negotiation skills
Computer skills including Excel, Word, Oracle & Datastream
Ability to travel-mostly in Midwest
