Classification: Full Time Compensation: $65000 to $75000 per year Corporate Director of Purchasing Our Client is look for a motivated, self starting, Purchasing Manager to be responsible for the development and management of the Company's inventory forecasting, planning and procurement operations. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the purchasing function to a) ensure excellent customer service; b) minimize costs; c) implement Company-wide purchasing strategies; and d) negotiate with vendors for the most favorable purchasing/shipping arrangements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Develops, plans and implements company-wide purchasing strategies to maximizeorganizational purchasing power; decrease freight expense and ensure appropriateinventory levels based on consumer trending.
2. Responsible for the recommendation and procurement of all product lines.
3. Arranges vendor contracts, negotiates best cost and observes quality of purchasedmaterials.
4. Organizes activities between Warehouse and Sales department in addition to inter-
branch activities. Ensures all branches maintain current purchasing standards.
5. Acts as a single point-of-contact regarding all purchasing strategies.
6. Analyzes changes or new issues in materials and supply to reduce cost and improvequality.
7. Responsible for maximizing sales channels, gross margin and inventory turns througheffective assortment, sales and inventory planning.
8. Stays abreast of competitors status including product lines, vendor relationships, etc.
9. Effectively manages inter-company transfers and minimizes cost.
10. Approves large dollar volume acquisitions for compliance and appropriateregulations.
11. Establishes, monitors and guides purchasing parameters of all authorized buyers.
12. Keeps all product information references current (MSDS, etc.).
13.
