Production Planner

We are recruiting for an experienced Production Planner to design and create a production planning system for our frozen product bakery manufacturing division, which encompasses:
$95 million dollars in sales
7 production facilities,400 + SKU’s stocked at 5 distribution centers;370 customersThe Production Planner will generate a statistical forecast of product demand. The ideal candidate will have “start-up” experience, designing a demand planning system using JD Edwards Inventory Management software or other similiar software. Duties include:Planning and preparing bi-weekly production plans for seven production facilities.
Developing and maintaining a twelve-week “by-item” demand forecast and translating it into production plans for manufacturing using MS Excel and JD Edwards software.
Developing capacity models and communicating variances of production requirements to capacity to production personnel.
Working proactively with marketing, sales and brokers to obtain forecast information and assimilate it into the forecast (examples: promotions, new product introductions etc.)
Performing analysis to identify trends, seasonality and other exceptional variations in demandMeasuring and reporting forecast accuracy; establishing forecast metrics such as case fill compliance, forecast error, production scheduling compliance.Identifying hold inventory and aging product, and report items and quantities to sales personnel, salvage buyers and customer service personnel. Negotiating price and delivery terms with salvage buyers.This position reports to the Vice President of Distribution with an office at corporate headquarters in Vienna, Virginia (a suburb of Washington, D.C.)
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will:Have a Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or other analytical discipline such as, Engineering, Math/Statistics or equivalent experience.Have 5+ years production planning/scheduling, demand planning and inventory control experience.
Have experience with statistical tools such as MS Excel and Minitab.
Located in Northern Virginia area
Outstanding candidates will have:
“Start-up” experience , designing a demand planning system
Experience with JD Edwards Inventory Management software a PLUS
An APICS/ IBF certification
