Product Development Sourcing Specialist - Dayton

Basic Function

This position serves as the point of contact for the business unit to the procurement and suppliers to ensure division and corporate goals are met.

Basic Accountabilities
-Leads purchasing activity in new product development from ideation to completion with primary focus customer specials/DIP/DDP.
-Point of contact between business unit and procurement.
-Works with Business Support/Product Development Specialist to allocate work.
-Works on analyzing quotations, counter samples and supplier suggested specification changes. Calculates estimated landed cost. Reviews all information with internal customer in order to make correct product/project decisions.
-Provides assistance to the LCCS such as day-to-day activity, vendor recommendation for product/categories, issues relating to buying, sourcing, analytical activities, international logistic and economic updates.
-Assists with the coordination of the internal quality expectation requirements and insures provides third party inspection services have complete product specifications, production samples and any other required information, in order for a pre-shipment inspection to be conducted. Insures product meets MCOP quality requirements prior to shipping.
-Participates in various departmental projects and improvement projects.
-Confirms correct U.S. Custom Harmonized Tariff Classification (H.T.S.)/duty rate as well as all country of origin marking requirements, NAFTA requirements and Visa Permits are administered appropriately with suppliers and custom broker.
-Performs other related duties as required for the efficient operation of the department, or as directed by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS


Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in Business/Purchasing or related field with 1-3 years experience of relevant work experience, or the equivalent of related education and experience.
-The ability to handle many situations simultaneously while maintaining attention to details and have a high tolerance for stress.
-Demonstrated analytical skills.
-The ability to extract relevant information and make appropriate decisions/recommendations.
