Job Summary and Functions:



We are currently seeking applicants for our Procurement Project Specialist position in Cincinnati, OH . This person will significantly improve the cost position and supplier performance for key commodities procured by developing, executing and implementing commodity strategies while utilizing available procurement tools and leveraging the commodities within Emerson. A successful candidate should thrive in both a team oriented environment and individually.


Major Areas of Accountability:


Analyze data for support of strategic commodity plans that supports the AO Procurement goals.
Oversee commodity project implementation at all business unit sites.
Understand, insure accuracy and set expectations for commodity cost reductions to support the division containment goals.
Insure strategic commodity/supplier activities and project results are communicated to all business unit sites.
Drive eBusiness events (Reverse, etc,) for direct material, MRO and capital spend projects.
Set goals, summarize information and report commodity specific results to AO Procurement.
Assist in identifying and evaluating new suppliers.
Drive payment terms negotiations.
Work with other Corporate Procurement Managers to create and implement procurement procedures to standardize purchasing throughout the organization.
Participate in Lean activities as they apply to procurement and assist in implementing the improvements that are identified.
Work with key suppliers to develop strategies to improve inventory turnover without sacrificing customer service.
Be a “point of contact” between business unit and Compliance Coordinator to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Many other job duties not described above that are in the course of Procurement Project Specialist function.



REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
3-5 years of experience in strategic procurement.
Experience in mechanical components preferred.
Excellent rapport building and communication skills.
Analytical and computer skills to manage data and information.
Project management skills.
