Location: Providence, RI or Bloomfield Hills, MIJob Summary:
Textron has set an objective to achieve excellence in customer value creation and growth. Strategic focus is centered on developing a perspective within the organization, a lens through which Textron looks at its markets, that reflects the needs, interests, and wants of the customer. Textron is investing significant effort in building a growth/customer-centric orientation, including strategies, leadership, talent, processes, systems and organization structures at both the division and corporate level. With this dramatic shift in orientation, this corporate role will partner with the business units identifying and seizing market opportunities, while supporting them in elevating their growth capabilities.This position will be part of a lean venture marketing group working directly as a business partner with senior leadership and functional teams from assigned divisions as they pursue marketing objectives across strengthening the core business and adjacent market expansion. Key focus areas include market sensing and customer understanding, market strategy, new offer realization, existing offer management, sales force/channel development and market performance measurement. This person will be a member of the Customer Leadership Council, and work with other enterprise councils and functions as required.Responsibilities:
Develop the external and customer orientation of the company
Drive and enable profitable growth within assigned business units
Help division leadership and functional teams to identify and seize market-based opportunities
Work with functional executives in strengthening core businesses and/or expansion into adjacent markets via new segments, products, channels, geographies and/or value chains
Counsel business units on the development and execution of market focused objectives, strategies tactical plans
Work as part of a team focused on enabling profitable growth by strengthening segmentation, product lifecycle management, positioning, value pricing, channel management and marketing dashboard capabilities
Serve as subject matter expert across one or more of four core areas: market sensing and understanding customers, new offer development, existing offer management and pricingA Textron Company
REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS degree required; MBA or Master’s preferred. Six Sigma certification a plus.Position Requirements:
Proven success driving growth performance within different industries, markets and customer segments
Adept at moving up and down the marketing cycle - analysis, planning, development, execution and performance measurement
Expertise in brand, product, channel, segment or program development and/or management
Working knowledge of marketing statistics - factor/cluster, correlation/regression analysis
Strong financial acumen and modeling capabilities
Highly skilled and experienced in at least one of four core areas: marketing research, strategic planning, marketing execution (product, channel, customer relationship management) or value pricing
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Willingness to roll up sleeves and do detailed work, as required
Can discuss high level strategy with senior leaders as well as details with functional personnel
Success in a complex organization with multiple businesses and diverse organizational cultures
Comfortable in having no direct ability to dictate what business units do, but can be effective in challenging and motivating each to improve effectiveness and drive results
Familiar with Six Sigma methodologies
Innovative and creative
Outstanding leadership competencies
Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
