Scope:
Supports the overall practices of contracting needs and cost saving initiatives. Manages quality control programs and conduct follow-up to ensure the effectiveness of Purchasing operations. Reviews policy and procedures to ensure the acquisition and flow of materials to departments. Makes appropriate recommendations to facilitate and improve administrative systems and department operations. Recommends system enhancements with the advice and assistance from the Supply Chain Systems Analyst and the Administrative Services Manager. Interacts with department manages and vendors in a professional manner. Works as a team member and makes sound decisions. Works well under pressure and meets multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. Demonstrates effective communication with department heads, staff and vendors to ensure appropriate department operations.Works with supply intensive departments to establish PAR levels and promote supply standardization. Supports the Medical Center's group purchasing organization (GPO). Meets regularly with vendors sales representatives to monitor supply vendor performance and services offered. Supports the Value Enhancement committees by providing procurement and usage information. Works with committees to maximize cost savings and standardization while providing products and services that enhances quality patient care for the Medical Center.Answers related questions and resolve purchasing issues with support from the Administrative Service Manager and Strategic Services Manager. Identifies and formulates department goals and objectives and monitors progress of activities to ensure achievement of approved goals. Coordinates, monitors and maintains department activities to ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of purchasing needs for the Medical Center. Manages department personnel to ensure effective operations. Provide work direction, assign and schedule work, answer job related questions, conduct on-the-job training.
Completes performance evaluations and take appropriate personnel actions. Interprets and implements Medical Center personnel and department policies and procedures. Assures accuracy and timeliness of data records and acquisition transactions in the automated Supply Chain Services system. Utilizes Supply Chain Services systems to assist with the validation of cost-saving initiatives and their expected impact on the general ledger. Recommends and helps formulate improvements for Supply Chain Services. Assists with implementation with direction from the Strategic Services Manager and the Administrative Services Manager.


Education : College Bachelor's in business or healthcare administration preferred.Experience : Experience in supply chain management with an emphasis on procurement policies and procedures.
