Lead Buyer Procurement

Classification: o Regular Full-Time employees are scheduled to work at least forty (40) hours per calendar week for an indefinite period of time. Location: Denver, COSpecific Duties & Tasks: Lead cross-functional procurement teams (procurement, internal client, vendor and technical advisors) Develop a strategic plan for assigned vendors to minimize total cost of ownership. Negotiate and draft contracts for a diverse group of goods, software and services for complex network systems or other commodity areas. Negotiate and draft contracts with large vendors with imbedded relationships and multi-customer contracts. Comprehend, negotiate and draft formal agreements after verbal agreements have been made by senior management. Establish vendor contracts for reselling telecommunication equipment and leasing network capacity. Negotiate prices and terms consistent with quality and quantity requirements. Follow standard practices, procedures and policies, and the Qwest Code of Conduct. Exercise independent judgment and demonstrate innovation. Frequent interaction with senior management.
Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of negotiation, drafting and administration of contracts experience. Demonstrated competitive bid process and source evaluation experience. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply-chain management, related field or equivalent experience. 5+ years of Procurement experience. Intermediate skills in MS Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills: Intermediate to advanced negotiation and contracting skills. Industry knowledge for specific services supported would be advantageous. Professional judgment and ingenuity in suggesting cost savings. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a collaborative role with customers and suppliers to achieve desired outcome for the business. Excellent communicator at all levels of the organization, including VP and EVP, both written and verbal. CPM preferred. Juris Doctorate or CPA would be advantageous.
Work Environment: Fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to perform under pressure, multi-tasking skills and a sense of urgency.
