Jr Level Buyer/Quote Specialist

Purpose: QUOTATION SPECIALIST, SALES Our client, a contract manufacturing (CM) company located in Carson, CA, is seeking candidates for a Quotation Specialist position.

Job Description:

The Quotation Specialist position at our client is the critical supporting role in developing and ultimately delivering quotations as requested by the customer. The qualified candidate will have a direct impact on the success of the client by meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Requirements:

-2 years experience in generating quotes or job estimates in an electronics and/or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
-Experience in submitting RFQs to vendors and organizing the vendor responses into a master summary.
-Buying/purchasing experience in or for the electronics distribution industry.
-Knowledge of military and commercial electronics and components, including military specifications and contract requirements, a plus.
-Familiar with blueprints, manufacturer?s data sheets, fabrication diagrams and assembly drawings, schematics, Gerber files.
-Proficient in Excel and Word, database functions.
-Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills at all levels within a manufacturing organization.
-Must be able to work well both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, including high multi-task capabilities.
-Ability to meet or exceed deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Specifically, this hands-on position will be responsible for:
-Interfacing with the electronics distribution chain, internally with marketing, sales, engineering, purchasing, operations, and finance to develop on-time proposals with the greatest value to both customer and company.
-Coordinating all cross-functional quote and proposal activities, including the critical data review and approval process ? ?cradle to grave.?
-Validating quote worksheets through various methods including verbal and written correspondence, engineering verification and light research.
-Working closely with sales people to customize proposals.
-Presenting proposals to customers in a consistent company format.
-Assisting in follow up with outstanding sales proposals in an effort to win purchase orders from customers.
-Overseeing maintenance of proposal databases and ensuring accuracy of quote log.
