We are determined to hire the expert in Low-density Polyethylene sourcing master. Travel is primarily within U.S with 20% Int’l travel expected. This role will create a globally negotiated contract network. Also implementing a long-term strategy for improved market position You will use your knowledge of how to construct resin and chemicals cost models and tracking/understanding market and economic trends that effect the value of those resins You will use your data mining techniques and cost, supply, and demand model development. You will identify opportunities for procurement cost reduction and supplier performance improvement, including alternating suppliers and products, renegotiating contracts to account for market changes, and working in conjunction with appropriate functional areas as needed. SKILLS REQUIRED Industry petrochemical knowledge, with experience negotiating moderate (~US$50-110MM) chemicals and/or polymer agreements Oracle expert knowledge. Strong understanding of the petrochemical markets, but has significant experience in strategic sourcing Masters Degree Preference 10 years as a Sourcing Manager or similar role in related industrySUMMARY OF POSITION - Understanding resin cost structures; developing resin cost models; tracking/understanding market, economic, trends; understanding global resin supply/demand balances including capacity additions, closures, timing, etc; understanding the business strategy, requirements, demands of each BU; building strong internal and external relationships; developing resin buying strategies that BU's agree with; negotiate the best resin purchasing terms consistent with the BU strategy; and developing an effective global and virtual team.
