Commodity Manager - Cstg & Mchg Components

Develop WORLDWIDE MERCURY MARINE sourcing strategy and lead supplier selection process for casting and machining. Manage commodity supply base to procure components that will give Mercury a strategic advantage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop commodity strategies to present a clear vision of the commodity consistent with Divisional strategy.
Develop sourcing strategy and lead supplier selection process
Set goals for commodity/implement projects that are in line with the overall organizational strategy.
Responsible for +/- $1 million dollar spend.
Lead/participate in the Center of Excellence (COE) team in support of the Divisional balanced score card.
Lead Mercury commodity team to ensure that commodity strategy is communicated/executed across the organization.
Develop and manage long term agreements with suppliers that are providing a strategic advantage.
Blanket agreements: Define commercial business terms, e.g., pay terms, EAU, consignment.
Lead activities required in a make vs.. buy decision for new or current production components.
Leadership role in resolution of chronic problems.
Responsible for managing contracts with key suppliers.
Lead cross-functional commodity teams.
Follow the Brunswick sourcing process.
Responsible for budgeting/managing project capital required for projects & tooling replacement.
Lead warranty recovery process for supplier components that are failing in the field.
Plan/manage/negotiate cost to meet reduction goals set forth by the organization.
Develop long term cost reduction plan.
Manage currency/raw material fluctuation per contract or based on agreement with suppliers.
Develop cost models to better understand cost drivers where required.
Provide target costing during costing process if required.
Conduct in-depth analysis of costing information provided by supplier.
Prepare RFQ''s for new suppliers on current product.
Ensure that all necessary CPC activities occur.
Responsible for supplier performance cost, quality, delivery.
REQUIREMENTS
BS/BA in Business or Engineering and minimum of seven years procurement experience, MBA preferred

MS Office: Computer proficiency with standard software packages, including Word, Power Point Project and Excel
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication, project management, cost modeling, analytical and writing skills
Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control systems (ISO & Six Sigma)
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight required
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Conflict resolution and handle difficult situation in a professional manner
Prioritize and handle multiple duties/projects at one time
C.P.M. Certification required
CPIM Certification desired
