Mary's Tack & Feed has become an institution in the San Diego and Southern California equestrian world. Established in 1963, Mary's has grown to become one of the top tack and saddlery stores in the nation. Selling with two locations in Southern California, as well as internet and catalog, Mary's continues to grow each year as we serve the equestrian community. We are currently recruiting for a Buying Supervisor, in charge of our Buying/Purchasing department and 4 buyers.

This position would supervise the existing buying team to manage departments, product lines and vendor relations. Assist with vendor negotiations, oversee buyers as they control their department and storewide inventory levels, run reports for product and department profitability and turns. Constantly improve buying methodology and analysis for increased product turns, increase margin and improved sales. Make recommendations for new products or sales promotions. Evaluate buyers on their performance. Design and implement buying bonus program based on performance in key objectives.
REQUIREMENTS


Must have at least a 2 year degree in business, purchasing or related field. Equestrian experience is preferred. At least 1 year experience in direct supervision, including hiring and evaluation of employees. At least 2 years experience in the buying or purchasing field, with experience in establishing and improving sales, margins and inventory turns, inventory analysis, vendor negotiations and product quality evaluation.
