Buyer - Purchasing


We are currently seeking a Buyer who will maintain inventory for resale at the Milwaukee, Wisconsin locationBuyer Responsibilities:

Provides purchase requisitions and purchase orders for goods and services in a timely manner as required; secures additional information on departmental needs and may prepare recommendations on vending sources
Negotiate purchases within prescribed dollar limits with respect to prices, discounts, quality, quantity and date of delivery
Meet with vendor’s representatives
Perform follow-up work on orders placed to ensure vendor’s compliance with terms of purchase
Approve requisitions and propose vendors or items for purchases.
Processes purchase orders, requisitions and accompanying invoices for payment on inventory items
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
1-2 years of previous purchasing experience
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and make decisions
Excellent oral and written communication skills and basic mathematical skills
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Excellent organization and analytical skills, strong aptitude for detail, able to handle multiple tasks and follow-up
Must be comfortable using computers and have some working knowledge of a personal computer, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
