SPX Weil-McLain, based in Michigan City, Indiana, known as best in class for residential and commercial gas, oil boilers, indirect-fired water heating, radiant systems and control systems has an immediate opportunity for two (2) Buyers in our Eden, North Carolina facility.

As a Buyer, your accountabilities will include planning, sourcing, buying and managing the supply to ensure delivery of goods and services required to support manufacturing needs, obtained at lowest total cost with consideration to quality, reliability of source and urgency necessary to support departmental objectives and contributing to the overall profitability of our organization.

You will analyze, forecast and procure material utilizing current material planning system (JDE), develop sources in terms of quality, service, cost reduction, on time delivery and reduced expenditure, manage purchase inventory through Kanban, Consignment and various restocking programs.

Will also work with Weil-McLain team to reduce purchased cost and improvements, along with Production & Material departments to improve storage and packaging of purchased parts.

Participates in continuing education programs to keep abreast of purchasing practices.
REQUIREMENTS
• The qualified candidate will have a B.S. Degree in supply chain management or other 4-year degree and a minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in industry.
• Must be proficient in MS Office Suite software and have experience with JD Edwards or other ERP systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Must understand total cost concept that includes material labor, overhead, quality and transportation, with experience in Kanban, Consignment or other inventory control programs.
• You must be a high-energy professional that enjoys working in a team, with the ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment.
