Buyer/Expeditor

Responsibilities:
Manages suppliers on a daily basis for all Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), export, service, repair, domestic parts suppliers and parts ordered for exceptions. Orders and verifies parts received, issues and follows-up with domestic trouble reports and design changes, reports supplier performance and assesses compensation requests. Monitors and adjusts inventory levels. Reviews and follows-up with suppliers on domestic trouble reports and supply part inventories for Japan. Coordinates various department projects. Works with suppliers on delivery improvement to assure Honda of America’s long term production stability. Travels to suppliers when necessary. Manages complex supplier control. Trains new and current associates.Daily Tasks:
Issues and ensures the accuracy of required material releases, purchase orders, domestic supply parts, supplier orders, service parts and repair parts as needed to meet production requirements. Verifies that orders are functionally acknowledged by supplier.Experience:
Minimum of two to five years of applicable purchasing or manufacturing sales experience.Knowledge:
Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM), MRP and inventory management design change control.Required Skills:
Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet computer applications.
Problem solving and decision making experience for moderately complex issues.
Must have proven ability to follow-up.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and be a team player.
Strong organizational skills.

Strong leadership capabilities.Desired Skills:
MRP and inventory management skills.
Negotiation experience in a manufacturing environment.Degree:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or minimum of four years applicable purchasing and/or sales manufacturing experience.
