Buyer...Advanced Purchasing

Our client is a major player in the automotive industry, a rapidly growing and expanding tier 1 supplier.


In this search we are looking for an experienced "Advanced Purchasing" buyer from the automotive industry.


Responsibilities:

* Responsible for securing and analyzing quotations and negotiating prices and terms related to new incremental business with suppliers, subject to Commodity Manager approval.


* Coordinates APQP deliverables from suppliers, engineering changes and a related price updates and helps to resolve supplier quality matters related to new program launches.

* Helps to develop new suppliers when new material/component needs are necessary for new business.

* Coordinates with Supplier Quality and Commodity Managers to ensure that new suppliers are qualified appropriately.


REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelors degree with 2 to 4 years of Purchasing experience


. * Familiarity with Sealing Systems/Systems Protection very helpful.

* Experience in manufacturing operations, program management or engineering a plus.

* Experience in APQP and AIAG processes a plus.

* Must be able to read prints/drawings.

* Must have strong negotiation skills.


* Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at/with all levels.

* Must possess excellent writing, presentation and organizational skills.


* Must be able to work in a Matrix organization.

* 20% to 30% travel.
