Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: ManufacturingResponsibilities: Job Purpose
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring material in a cost effective and timely manner, maintaining vendor contracts and negotiating reductions in material costs.Essential Functions
Responsible for the procurement of production material and outsourced component machining.
Develop production control tools and processes to manage critical milestones for each supply chain to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
Strategically develop new suppliers as necessary to reduce costs and manufacturing risk.
Utilize e-Auction and global support systems to negotiate reduced material costs.
Lead and coordinate support resources (strategic sourcing, advanced manufacturing engineer and supplier quality) in the selection and qualification of new vendors.
Interface with the GE Routing Center to optimize transportation cycles and cost.
Manage inventories to eliminate and prevent excess and inactive materials. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree.
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (especially Excel).
Eligibility Requirements

Bachelors degree in Business (Finance, Management, Operations) or Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical).
Proficient in COPICS.
Previous experience in a Gas Turbine component manufacturing operation.
Corporate Training Program graduate (manufacturing/operations/engineering).
Demonstrated knowledge of production and inventory management operations.
