Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: SourcingResponsibilities: * Responsible for the sourcing of parts to support Manufacturing Ship Direct (MSD) hardware.
Responsible for supplier management for all suppliers supporting the COEs including price, delivery and quality.
Identify and develop new suppliers to support cost, delivery or quality of product.
Serve as primary interface between engineering, supplier and project management for any sourced components.
Help drive and participate in engineering productivity ideas to reduce cost of products.
Contribute to plan to optimize use of eAuction tool.
Resolve and manage issues relative to engineering design changes, SDR, QCRS and production schedule changes to ensure delivery.
Develop process to look upstream for pending requirements and drive engineering/sales in order to ensure sourcing given adequate cycle to procure material.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * BA/BS (Technical or Business Degree preferred).
3 years of experience in sourcing, finance, manufacturing, engineering or operations.Desired: * Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certified (GE Employees Only).
Business/Military Experience.
At least 5 yrs Sourcing Experience.
GE Program Graduate (GE Employees Only).
MBA.
Excellent interpersonal communications, and negotiation skills with ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; strong PC and database management skills.
GE Energy familiarity.General: * Schenectady, NY Location Preferred.
