Assistant Buyer - Rugs

ASSISTANT BUYER - RUGSAssists in the assortment planning, procurement, and implementation of merchandise plans for assigned lines; supports the buying unit to
which assigned in their efforts to meet the strategic business plans and profit objectives of JCP Direct.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Participates and assists in the development of competitive, balanced merchandise assortment plans for assigned subdivisions of JCP
Direct.
2. Identifies and recommends merchandise and advertising opportunities to maximize promotional strategies and increase market share.
3. Works with JCP Direct Inventory analysts to assure inventory for assigned line is effectively managed in-season.
4. Coordinates with Internet Planners to assure merchandise focus on internet pages is consistent with strategic business plans for
assigned line(s).
5. Supports the Company's multi-channel efforts by collaborating with other associates across business units to optimize business plans
for JCP Direct and the Company.
6. Stays abreast of merchandise, fashion, and other industry trends to assure direct merchandise assortment plans are relevant to our
target customers.KEY RELATIONSHIPS:1. Works closely with JCP Direct Advertising associates on print media development.
2. Coordinates and collaborates with JCP Direct inventory associates to meet plans.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelors degree; business, marketing, or fashion major preferred.Experience: 3 years in a buying support function, or related area.Core Competencies: Fashion merchandise knowledge; good analytics, capable of good organization and follow-through in a fast-paced
environment; very strong team orientation
