The incumbent will be responsible for the installation and testing of large-scale, Electronic Security System (ESS) Projects worldwide for various customers. All assigned tasks will be executed with the complete knowledge and understanding of the policies, procedures, standards and goals of the Organization. The incumbent will be knowledgeable in all aspects of large-scale ESS installations, various National standards and codes, and standard installation practices for a wide range of crafts, trades and disciplines.
Essential Duties and Functions:
Self performs and/or manages subcontractors in the installation of intrusion detection, access control, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) and data communication systems. On-site work will include the installation and the configuration of Command & Control computer systems, alarm annunciator systems, CCTV monitors and recording/storage devices. Also includes installation, termination, and calibration of field devices and sensors, and installation of communication infrastructure including conduit, enclosures and fiber optic cables.
Assists System Engineers in development of installation plans.
Assists in site surveys. Assists in developing cost estimates and procuring equipment and installation materials.
Completes job status reports, travel expense reports, safety logs, as-built drawings, and other documentation as required.
Actively participates in weekly meetings to discuss installation activities, changes, and developments with the customer and site personnel.
Conducts government-witnessed testing of installed systems with Project Superintendent or Systems Engineer.
Other duties as assigned by supervision.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Graduate of a four-year Apprentice Program in Electronics or Communications, an Associates degree in electronics or communications; or graduate of a Military Class A and/or B school in electronics or communications.
Experience
Minimum ten (10) years experience at the professional level with responsible duties including the following:
Extensive and thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity, electronics, complex and integrated electronic systems.
Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of the installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshooting, and/or testing of electrical and electronic systems.
Interpreting and working from blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, handbooks and other technical documentation as well as the ability to evaluate and correct technical problems.
Electronic equipment field installation.
Working knowledge of the National Electric Code.
Must possess sufficient technical skills to work independently.
Special Requirements:
Successful candidates must be able to pass drug screening, possess a valid driver’s license, be able to obtain and maintain a valid US passport and Department of Defense SECRET clearance (as a minimum). Domestic US and overseas travel will be required.
