Product Specialist (PK11099)

Administer program activities for the product line.
Develop and execute a materials plan to manage inventory investment and component qualification from category/commodity suppliers.
Coordinate material planning process to include logistics planning, inventory levels, stock rotation, price protection and other supplier terms.
Interpret, organize, communicate and assure data accuracy of product line information (pricing, products and policies) to support revenue / sales objectives.
Establish priorities according to needs of sales organization, utilizing market knowledge with adherence to documented procedures for quotations, orders, and inventory levels in order to meet customer requests and deadlines.
Lead initiatives to identify, track, and implement cost reduction opportunities.
Defines, implements metrics and reports.
Manage compliance to supplier contract, negotiate terms and make pricing decisions.
Lead or actively participate on cross-functional process or operational excellence teams.
Manage and control part master, purchasing activity, inventory and stock rotation programs.
Act as a lead / mentor to team members




Undergraduate 4-year-degree in Materials Management, Business Administration or Engineering and 4-6 years of Sourcing, Purchasing or equivalent experience.


5+ years experience in product management, supply chain, or sales or equivalent experience required.


Thorough knowledge of Avnet systems and standard operating procedures preferred
Skills & Knowledge may vary dependent upon product line.
Thorough knowledge of server products and related products and services, especially HP products.
Extensive knowledge of computerized sales order system, PC work processing and spreadsheet software required.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills are essential.
