A Field Occupational Therapist is a licensed professional who provides direct and indirect patient care services under a physician’s plan of care and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Option Care, the state’s professional standards, and regulatory entities. The Field Occupational Therapist is responsible for collaboratively implementing the care plan, educating patients/caregivers and evaluating the patient’s progress toward goals.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of an occupational therapy school accredited by the Committee on allied Health Education of the A.M.A. in collaboration with the American Occupational Therapy Association and/or by the State Department of Education in the specific state where employed:

Is eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association:
OR
Has two (2) years of appropriate experience as an occupational therapist and has achieved a satisfactory grade on a proficiency examination conducted, approved or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service. (Does not apply with respect to persons initially licensed by a State or seeking initial qualification as an occupational therapist after December 31,1977.)
Current Licensure by the State Physical and Occupational Therapy Board.
Valid and current driver’s license and evidence of automobile insurance
Flexibility and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with team members, patients, care givers, physicians and referral sources
