The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician must have the working and theoretical knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment needed to perform laboratory testing in the areas of general laboratory, microbiology and blood bank as assigned. They report directly to the Clinical Coordinator or Technical Supervisor for all technical work performed in that department.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor of Science degree and completion of an approved Medical Technologist Program; OR Associate of Science degree or degree with the required science courses and Medical Technician Certification.

Prefer generalist laboratory experience.

Previous Microbiology experience required to work in the microbiology department, minimum of one year experience preferred.

License/Certification: ASCP or equivalent registry, or be eligible to take the registry in immediate future.

Phlebotomy skills not required, but desirable.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently.

Vision, hearing, mobility sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
