JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of Corporate Information Security Officer is responsible for contributing to development, maintenance and implementation of the corporate-wide Information Security Policy and Program. Specializes in one or more areas in analyzing security risks, recommending and implementing security safeguards, and monitoring compliance to security laws and regulations. Interacts with technical and business personnel to meet business requirements in a secure manner as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluating the effectiveness, efficiency of, and compliance with existing information security control measures. Recommending control measures to improve information security (including evaluating and selecting products and services). Developing, presenting, and managing the dissemination of information security awareness and training materials. Developing security policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, and other elements of an infrastructure to support information security. Investigating alleged information security breaches and, if necessary, assisting with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches. Coordinating and monitoring information security activities throughout the organization, including the preparation of periodic status and progress reports. Monitoring developments in the information security and information processing fields to identify new opportunities and new risks. Interpreting information security requirements emanating from external bodies, such as government agencies and standards-setting groups. Serving as a liaison between various groups dealing with information security. Preparing implementation plans, security product purchase proposals, staffing plans, project schedules, budgets, and related information security management materials. REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Computer Science or Information Security college degree or equivalent work experience is preferred
Certification/License:
Preferred Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Experience:
5 to 7 years in information security related positions, 2 years or more in supervisory position of security related staff
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and effectively. Requires wide range of security knowledge and experience with one or more security technologies (e.g., Windows 2000, Unix, VMS, Novell, Active Directory, RACF) Requires strong leadership, systems and security risk analysis and organizational skills Strong analytical, planning, problem solving, project management and time management skills
Requires interpersonal skills to interface with technical and business personnel
