The Seattle, Washington Office of the American Diabetes Association is seeking a Director of Fund Raising to manage all the fund raising activities and staff within the Washington area. This staff person will work closely with the Executive Director and senior staff group and oversee all event fund raising activities for the Washington Market.Direct responsibility for fund-raising events, such as our America's Walk for Diabetes, Tour De cure bicycling event, Gala and School Walk for Diabetes, monitoring staff within the fund raising department, volunteer recruitment and organization. This person will conduct training and orientation of these volunteers giving technical advice and guidance as needed, as well as implement the ADA fund raising campaign in Washington State. They will also assess the fund raising potential and develops an annual fund raising plan with goals, objectives and process evaluations in terms of cost effectiveness and adherence to ADA policies for each community.The ideal candidate will possess experience working among diverse communities through volunteer development and fund raising. Candidate will be working within a team environment and must be flexible, able to multi-task, detailed oriented with excellent follow through and execution. Successful candidate is result-driven with experience in managing big events working with and through groups. Demonstrated staff management experience with ability to coach and council staff in achieving goals. Must have experience in budget management, review and development.Starting salary high $50's to low $60's depending on qualifications and demonstrated experience.

„XBachelor's degree
„XMinimum of seven years experience with ADA or similar voluntary health agencies, or in progressively responsible positions of fund raising.
„XSales experience preferred.
„XFamiliarity with fundraising events is required.
„XAbility to travel daily within the Puget Sound region, and work some evenings and weekends.
„XHave access to an automobile and hold a Washington State drivers license.
„XAble to lift 35 lbs
„XWorking knowledge of Microsoft office.
„XMust pay close attention to details, be able to manage multiple activities, and describe ADA's vision of successful events to volunteers.
