COORDINATOR, RESIDENCY PROGRAM

As a result of the July 2000 reaffiliation with Scripps Clinic, Scripps now has approximately 10,000 employees and also cares for patients at 12 Scripps Clinic locations throughout San Diego County.Division: Scripps HospitalsDepartment: MEDICAL POSTGRAD EDUCATIONJob Type: Full-TimeShift Type: DaysShift Hours: 8 Hr ShiftPosition Profile: Coordinates and is responsible for all administrative functions of the Transitional Year residency program at Scripps Mercy, under the direct supervision of the Manager, Department of Medical Education and the ultimate guidance of the Transitional Year Program Director/ Director of Medical Education. Duties include but are not limited to: coordination of the resident application, interview and selection process; distribution, tracking, recording, data base management, and summary preparation of resident, faculty, teaching service and program evaluations; ongoing coordination, data gathering and summary preparation for site visits by national regulatory entities such as the ACGME; coordination, planning and scheduling for teaching conferences, licensure and other credentialing requirements; coordination and revision of written curricula; coordinate, support and provide guidance to the chief medical residents, the Residency Advisory Council and the transitional year residents in their administrative duties and capacity as employees; liaison with the coordinators and administrative personnel of residency programs at affiliated institutions, including Scripps CV Family Practice Program, UCSD, and the Naval Regional Medical Center.SCRIPPS VALUESWe provide the highest quality of service.Scripps is committed to putting the patient first and quality is our passion. REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of independent analytical and decision-making abilities. Demonstrated personnel skills. Additional computer literacy, medical terminology, secretarial, receptionist and organizational skills. Three years experience in the health care field, medical school or residency programs preferred.
High School diploma. Associate degree preferred.
