Behavioral Specialist

The tradition of caring which culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center began in 1933, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. In 1992 Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center, and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The Hospital is now a 228-bed facility on two campuses, providing comprehensive healthcare services. It is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, employs over 1000 trained healthcare workers, and has a Medical Staff of approximately 300 physicians representing over 40 specialties.Department: Behavioral Health ServicesSchedule: Per DiemShift: Days (8-4:30)Job Details: Basic Life Support (BLS) RequiredPosition Summary Reporting to the Social Services Supervisor of Behavioral Health Services, this position will provide direct programmatic care to patients. Will participate in patient and family teaching. Assumes responsibility for completing all assigned duties. Works cooperatively with treatment team personnel in the clinical setting.
Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in the field of Behavioral Sciences or 1 - 2 years experience in a Mental Health setting required. Knowledge of Patient Rights. Current BLS (CPR) Certificate required. Assaultive Behavior Management training required within 90 days from date of hire.
