Attorney

Handle activities related to maintenance of GuideStone and its affiliates as corporate entities, including various federal and state filings and assistance to corporate secretary.

Draft and/or review contracts relating to operations of GuideStone and its affiliates.
Provide legal support to employee benefits plans and programs provided by or made available through GuideStone and its affiliates.
Perform research and analysis of legal issues, including but not limited to employee benefits, tax, bankruptcy and corporate matters.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of ABA-approved law school.
License to practice law in the State of Texas

At least 3 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house corporate position, preferred.
Firm foundation of legal knowledge and skills and the ability to identify, articulate and address successfully the broad range of legal and business concerns that impact GuideStone and its products, services, plans and programs.
Ability to address highly technical issues involving corporate and employee benefit matters.

Ability to analyze a high volume of technical material effectively and efficiently.
Ability to utilize independent judgment and initiative within the framework of GuideStone's ministry objectives.
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and oral) to assist a wide range of persons.
Ability to relate in a positive and productive manner to GuideStone's trustees, directors and officers and to all levels of internal staff.
The person in this position should be a member of a Southern Baptist Church. GuideStone Financial Resources is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention and in accordance with applicable federal law related to religious organizations certain positions within GuideStone require employment of individuals who are Southern Baptist.
